I have devoted the last five years to the study of ceramics with an emphasis on sculpture. Conscious travelling to places such as Goa, Jerusalem, Oaxaca, and Lisbon has supported the learning of geographically traditional ceramics. I am currently based in Los Angeles, where I integrate raw material and sculptural artistry.
My teaching style is heavily based on the exploration of chance when modelling clay. Clay is a natural material which reacts to our touch, and the forms that announce themselves can be led or followed depending on our mental state. I try to pass along the importance of enjoyment in process vs outcome, which ultimately makes art so healing.
